Daycare/Before and After school programs;
One
week of tuition to ensure your child’s spot and to cover the
costs incurred by the center if the child is withdrawn from the program.
Your deposit will be placed toward your child’s last week in
program. If you decide to not attend Curley’s, your deposit
is only refundable for one month from the date it was given.
Nursery
School Program:
One
month of tuition to ensure your child’s spot and to cover the costs incurred
by the center if the child is withdrawn from the program.
Deposit will be placed to your child’s last month in the program.
A 30-day probationary period will be observed by day care staff and parents upon admission of their child at Curley’s Kids Care. During that time period, parents and staff will have the opportunity to assess the day care’s setting and educational program and determine whether or not it meets the needs of the child. Beyond the probationary period, parents will be given three weeks notice should the day care not meet the needs of the child.
A two-week written notice to the director must be made prior to any withdrawal. The security deposit will be used as tuition for your child’s last week in program if, and only if, the director has received written verification two weeks prior to leaving.
Payment is due every Friday, one week in advance of service. If requested, a receipt will be given for payment. Prompt payments are essential for day care center to keep abreast of expenses. In the event of continual late payment, director will have the right to terminate the child’s position. Weekly tuition payments will be based on schedule determined at registration. The fee remains the same if your child is absent on a scheduled day. Payment will placed in the payment box on Friday for the following week. Payment becomes late if received after the following Monday.
For payments that are received after Monday for the current week, there will be a $5.00 per day late charge incurred. This was a decision that did not come lightly. Please consider the fact that the staff is paid on a weekly basis, bills must be paid weekly and daycare supplies are purchased weekly, therefore, we greatly depend on your payments to be on time. We also realize that there are occasionally special circumstances that are beyond your control. We will promise to consider the circumstance. Communication is necessary from families. Any tuition in arrears for more than two weeks, will jeopardize your child’s placement.
If three (3) tuition checks are returned to Curley’s with Non-sufficient funds, a cash system for your weekly payments will immediately begin. Notification of each check will be given to parents and a copy placed in your file. In addition, a $30.00 fee per returned check will incur.
(Amount was determined to cover bank charges and late fees)
Each parent must adhere to daily schedule agreed upon at registration. Pick-up must be prompt. The day care center staff schedule is based on children’s schedule and has to stay within compliance of teacher/child ratio set by the State of Connecticut. In case of emergency, please speak to head teacher/director concerning late pick-up and arrangements may be made. Your child’s schedule and tuition are based on a 10 hour day.
A child’s scheduled days can not be changed unless a month’s written notice is given to director and if a position is open. The day care will adhere to teacher/child ratios determined by our license. Children’s schedules will be adhered to in accordance with the agreement determined at the time of registration.
Parents must call by 8:00 a.m. if their child will be absent from the day care program that day. All daycare children should arrive by 9:00 a.m. to participate in Nursery School program.
All children are allowed one week of their scheduled time for vacation. Unpaid vacation time is allowed for families who attend our center year round, including our summer program. For example:
Full weeks (five days) of day care |
- |
Five days unpaid vacation time |
Four days of day care |
- |
Four days unpaid vacation time |
A month’s notice in advance for vacation is requested. During vacation weeks, no tuition will be charged. The child must be enrolled a full year before vacation time can be taken.
Field trips, whether off site or in-house, are an additional cost. In order to keep the costs low, Curley’s has their own van to transport children. Sign-up is on a first come, first served basis. Since we are limited on the number of children who can sign-up for a field trip, we cannot refund a trip if the child does not attend. On each off site trip, emergency contact information is taken with the class, along with a cell phone and first aid supplies. If alternate transportation is needed due to an emergency, staff vehicles will be used, or state police contacted.
Curley’s Kids Care Day Care center is open Monday through Friday, from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Our center is open 52 weeks of the year except for holidays (see center see center closings).
Curley’s Kids Care Day care Center will be closed for the following holidays:
If holiday falls on a Saturday, the Friday before will be used as the holiday
If holiday falls on a Sunday, the following Monday will be used as the holiday
Tuition will not be refunded for these days.
Parents are expected to bring their child into the center at the appropriate times. They must sign in, place their child’s belongings in the designated area and speak with teacher before leaving. Please communicate and advise the teacher of any concerns, news, or changes. In order for daycare children to take full advantage of the nursery school program, you should arrive with your child no later than 9:00 a.m.
Parents must come into the center at the scheduled time to pick up his/her child. Parents should speak with a staff member (acknowledging he/she has his/her child) and sign the child out. Parents must inform staff in writing if someone other than persons designated on emergency medical form is to pick up the child. If a person picking up the child is not familiar to the staff, they will be asked for a picture and some other form(s) of identification. This is for your child’s protection.
Our center closes at 6:00 p.m. All children should be picked up by the agreed upon time at enrollment. Any child picked up after 6:00 p.m. will be charged according to the following rate:
$1.00 per minute - minimum $5.00
If a child has not been picked up within 15 minutes of your scheduled pick-up time, the staff will begin making phone calls to the emergency persons designated on the child’s enrollment form.
Public School Closings ~ Kindergarten and School Age Classes
For days off and vacations from the public schools, there will always be a sign-up. Sign-up is not required on half days. We assume that they will be here. If you do not sign-up for your child to come on a day off, your child will not be able to attend Curley’s on that day. There will be no exceptions made. There are many reasons for which we have this policy. The major reason being that we need to be able to staff according to how many children will be here on each given day. There is always a deadline for signing up for days off. Once the deadline has passed, you will not be able to sign-up your child for any days, or remove them from the sign-up. If your child is signed-up for a day, and does not attend, you will still be charged for that day. Again, the reason for this is because of staffing. Please remember that if there is a week off of school, and your child does not attend Curley’s, you pay only your regular weekly fee. Should there be an unscheduled day off from school, (i.e. snow day), you will not be required to sign up. However, we would appreciate a courtesy phone call from the parent in the morning to let us know that your child will be attending so that we can staff accordingly. Please see Brandie or Brenda if you have any questions
