Welcome to Curley's Kids Care
Curley’s Kids Care will use mixed ages to group children (8 weeks to 36 months), (3 through 5 year old) and (6 through 12 year old) to play/learn together in self-directed/teacher directed activities. This approach provides a “family” atmosphere, for sharing, cooperating and helping one another. The staff will always be tuned in to each child’s developmental needs and progress so that each child grows and learns at their own pace. The staff at Curley’s Kids Care will coordinate and implement activities in the science, language, math and manipulatives, arts, music and large and small motor skill areas within a thematic approach. By using the thematic approach, concepts can be reinforced in each area allowing a child many opportunities for learning concepts to be held in memory, and retrieved information at a later date. The staff at Curley’s Kids Care will provide an inviting atmosphere, which will allow children to develop as positive learners. Teachers and families work together to help children participate successfully in the early childhood setting.
Each child is a unique individual. The center’s educational program will build on each child’s own needs, interests, talents and capabilities. The staff also recognizes the importance of an atmosphere of emotional security in which the child can most effectively develop a positive self-image and learn to respect others and their property. In the preschool program, we use the department of education recommended curriculum, the Connecticut Framework and Assessments.
